After eight years of successfully building a Health and Beauty Spa of distinct recognition in the quiet backwaters, deep in the South West of Somerset, inspiration guided principal, Julie Wiltshire to create the Isis School of Beauty, Holistic and Sport Therapies.

The Isis school offers a quiet, modern and well equipped environment with specialist IT equipment to assist learning. Contact hours will be completed in our associated salon “Libra’s” with the benefit of facilities such as a hot-tub and sun bed.

Qualified tutors will sympathetically guide students through their chosen course, additional workshops with applied and vital information for those choosing therapies as a career, ensures Isis is the ideal school to perfect a student’s knowledge.

At Libra’s, our associated salon and spa, we all understand the importance of an excellent therapist, it is our intention to be able to impart this valuable knowledge on to our students.

It is our belief that, to ensure the quality of all our courses exceed other courses available, the experience we have gained from running a successful beauty salon has to be offered to every student pursuing a career in this valuable industry. This is why we include guest speakers who will offer invaluable advice on all aspects of business covering web designing, book keeping, accounting, tax assessing, writing a business plan, advertising and client care.

Our students are offered both accredited and non-accredited courses. The course content will be the same for both accredited and non-accredited, as will be the price for courses. Students wishing to gain a recognised qualification will pay extra for the examination and registration fees.

Students working towards an accreditation will sit a theory and practical examination with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). This is a globally recognised certificate, which enables the school to welcome students from Europe and other, world wide countries.

All students are required to complete a certain amount of contact hours. These hours count towards any final assessments.

A strict code of practise and conduct is applied to all students and Isis associates. Both students and staff are expected to adhere to these codes at all times.

Isis staff are trained to deal with any equal opportunities, student’s appeals and health and safety issues. A contract will be issued at the start of each course for every student/tutor to sign.

All tutors apply the “planned learning outcome” to each course segment. Students are offered opportunities to discuss their own learning outcomes throughout each course.

All tutors are encouraged to look at each student’s “acquired prior learning” (APL) and recognise when a course is unsuitable for a candidate.

Students are expected to attend every class at the stated time. Lessons are conducted over the course of 8 hours per day with time for morning, lunch, afternoon and discussion breaks.
